Dr. Clayton Pfister
Head Veterinarian
Dr. Clay Pfister, a Louisiana native, graduated from Loyola University with a bachelor of arts degree. He also graduated from Northeast Louisiana university with a bachelor of science degree. He graduated from LSU school of veterinary medicine in 1987. He began his veterinary career as the owner and operator of Equine Veterinary Service LLC, a large animal medicine and surgery practice. (1988-1994). Dr. Pfister and his wife, Dr Kendal Kroll, began Lake Animal Hospital in Metairie La, a small animal medicine and surgery practice. (1989-2006) then sold to an associate after hurricane Katrina. In 1994, Dr. Pfister began Cypress Point Animal Hospital in Mandeville La. This full-service small animal medicine and surgery practice is still serving the North Shore today and now he serves as the chief medical director.
Dr. Pfister and his wife spend the majority of their free time taking care of a small menagerie of horses, chickens, and dogs at their home in Covington. Dr. Pfister has four children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Pfister’s youngest son is a small animal veterinarian in Metairie, LA. Dr. Pfister has dedicated his entire career to treating both large and small animals. His professional interests include internal medicine, orthopedics, and practice development and management. His hobbies include tennis, fishing and outdoor activities.
Dr. Joe Incandela
Veterinarian
Dr. Joe Incandela is an associate veterinarian here at Cypress Point, practicing since 2021. Not only has he worked here as a veterinarian, he has worked here as a kennel technician and veterinary technician. Dr. Joe began his veterinary career here at Cypress Point by coming in after school to clean the kennel area, then working his way up to veterinary technician, and then finally going to veterinary school. He is a Louisiana local that graduated from Fontainebleau High School and Southeastern University. He attended St. George’s School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at The University of Tennessee. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the Society of Phi Zeta, the honor society of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Joe’s areas of practice include companion animals, exotics, avian, small mammals and farm animals. Dr. Joe provides a variety of services for your pets, including general preventative care, diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, dental surgery, and much more!
In his spare time, Dr. Joe spends time with his amazing family, which includes his wife, Becky, son Jaxson, and daughter Norah. They have a dog named Scooby-Doo, a cat named Sammy, and a variety of exotic animals!
Dr. Katie Severson
Veterinarian
Dr. Katie is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for companion animal care and animal welfare. Originally from Old Mandeville,Louisiana, she attended St. Scholastica Academy and went on to earn both her undergraduate degree and veterinary doctorate from Louisiana State University. A member of the prestigious Phi Zeta Honor Society, Dr. Katie graduated from veterinary school in 2010.
After starting her career in equine sports medicine at the racetrack, Dr. Katie transitioned to companion animal medicine when she began her family eight years ago. Today, she is committed to providing comprehensive care for her patients, both large and small. With a particular interest in ophthalmology, dentistry, wound management, and veterinary business operations, Dr. Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice.
Outside of work, Dr. Katie enjoys spending time with her family, including her son, her three dogs, and her ball python, Cheeto. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, a fitness enthusiast, and a skilled home renovator.
Dr. Brandon Jacobsen
Veterinarian
Dr. Brandon Jacobsen comes from Mandeville, LA where he spent 13 years working as a veterinary technician. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences at Louisiana State University and then moved to the Caribbean to obtain his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University, spending his clinical year at The Ohio State University. He then returned to New Orleans to complete a one-year rotating internship. After working there as an ER doctor, he opted for a change of scenery and moved to Asheville, North Carolina at VEG and a specialty/ER clinic.
Dr. Jacobsen has always had a keen interest in diagnostic imaging. When not on the floor, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys spending time with his wife and children, smoking meat, and collecting sports cards.
